When I read the article of MZSURA’s Nutella Mug Cake about a month ago, I told myself I shouldn’t try this, it is way too sweet and I can’t be sure if I could have self control to stop eating it.
Then my daughter bought a bottle of Nutella and with the Easter public holiday, I just couldn’t help but tried this recipe:
4 tablespoons self-rising flour
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons Nutella
3 tablespoons milk (I used light milk)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Combine all ingredients in a large microwave safe coffee mug.
- Mix well with a fork until smooth.
- Microwave on high for 1½– 3 minutes. I started it at 1 minute and monitored it as I kept adding 10 seconds, I took it out after 2 minutes.
Surprisingly it’s not as sweet as I first expected, but the portion was a bit too much for me, so I needed to share it with my husband, who didn’t enjoy it as much as I did. Next time, I will definitely cut the portion in half. It’s a bit strange and fun to eat a cake in a mug and with a spoon 😉
