Such bad luck! Why does God deliberately let unfortunate follow us?

Published August 12, 2017 by gigiwellness28

There was a ship that sank on its voyage, a sailor survived and drifted to a small island of nowhere.  In order to survive, he cut some branches and palm leaves to build a shabby tree house.

He prayed every day, “God, please keep me safe on this island and help me to find a way to leave here.”

He prayed the same prayer every day… one day passed… two days passed… three days passed…  After a month, he was still trapped on this small island.

One evening while walking on the beach, he smelt of smoke in the air.  When he followed the smell, he found the shabby tree house that he had been staying for the past month was on fire!  By the time he reached to the spot, the treehouse was gone, but left with ashes!

He cried out angrily, “God, not only did you not answer my prayer, but now you have taken away the only shelter I have!”  He was furious and later that evening he felt asleep on the beach.

Instead of wake up by himself in the next morning, as he did for the past month, he was woken up by someone patting him…  “Wait… What!!  What is patting me?”  He was shocked when he opened his eyes, there were crewmen surrounding him, who paddled to the beach to rescue him.

The sailor was over the moon and asked his rescuers, “How did you know I am here?”  They replied, “We saw the signal you made last night!”  The sailor became so puzzled, “Signal?” then suddenly he remembered it was the “unfortunate” of his shabby tree house and how he shouted to God for hours.

There were times we were angry about the unfortunate events happened to/around us, we blamed God not looking after us, we may even cursed God.

However, please believe that God does not deliberately:

  • let unfortunate follow us;
  • let us not able to find a job;
  • let us fail in examination;
  • let us fall in trouble.

In fact, God intentionally:

  • send us some setbacks;
  • block our essence.

Because He has arranged us with countless blessing.  A lot of things may seem to be curse or unfortunate at the time, but in fact they are God’s (not too obvious) blessing.

Just like this story, our Father in Heaven was so humorous, He used some unpredictable events to lead to a pleasantly surprise at the end.

There were things in life that made us wonder, made us doubt, made us feel injustice, but when we look back now, we can find God was not deliberate, He has always been there.

Isaiah Chapter 55 verses 8-9 (ERV)

The Lord says, “My thoughts are not like yours.
Your ways are not like mine.
Just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways,
and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.

Richness of Heart

The Little Kid’s Heart

A lady has just moved home and found there was a poor family of a widow with her two little kids living right next door.

Few nights later, the area had black out, so she lighted up some candles.  The Little Kid's Heart

A short while later, there was a knock on her front door.

It was one of that poor family’s kids, who looked very nervous and asked, “Excuse me, do you have candles in your home?”

The lady thought, “Are you for real?  They don’t even have candles?  No way I am lending you candles, who knows what else will you ask me next time!”

With that thought in her mind, she replied very rudely, “NO!”

Just as she was going to close the door, the kid showed a caring smile and handed her two candles, “I thought since you’ve just moved in, you might not have candles ready, so I’ve asked my Mama’s permission and bring you these two candles for the night.”

The lady felt so shameful of herself, she moved to tears and hold the child tightly in her arms.

The Pure Heart

It has not rained for a very long time, the farmers in a little town have struggled in harvesting, so the Pastor has organised a Prayer Meeting for Rain Fall.

Everyone in the town attended the Prayer Meeting, among them was a little girl, but because she’s tiny, no one had paid much notice to her.The Pure Heart

The Pastor went up to the pulpit to start the Prayer Meeting, but something caught his attention, which moved him to change what he was planning to say.

He said, “Today we come together to ask God for rain fall; but look around, this little girl is the only person who has brought an umbrella!”

Sometimes we have to say, “Little kids are in fact not that ‘little‘, in fact they are really ‘big‘!  They have a very big heart to love and they have a very big mind to trust!”

<< We may not earn a lot of money to be financially rich; but we can always show the richness of our heart! >>

Did God really not answer our prayers?

Published December 31, 2012 by gigiwellness28

There was a boy, who was brought up by his widow mother (a devoted Christian), he learnt to pray ever since he could remember, his first reading material was the artwork with scripture from Sunday School, which he enjoyed the activities and had always been the best behaved kid in the class.

The boy grown up and started working.  Few years later, he met some new friends and hung out with the wrong group of people.  He started to think he knew much more than his Mom, he concerned more on his “eventful” life style and soon his “eventful” schedules had no spare slot to attend church services, read Bible, pray nor stay at home; he became rebellion towards his Mom and even reluctant to have contact with her.

About a couple of decades later, his Mom passed away in her sleep.  While clearing out her belongings, he found an envelope addressed to him.  It was a letter from his Mom, telling him how much she loved him and how much God loves him; how she had put him in her daily prayers, even when it seemed he was so far away from her and God; how she longed to see him return back to God; and how she believed God will one day answered her prayers.

His tears kept flooding down his face, his Mom’s words had melted his last shield, he had never thought she would still pray for him even after the rude remarks he had made to her, to her belief and to God; he couldn’t believe the extent of her faith in God.  Right on the spot, he made a tremendous decision, he confessed his sins to God and repented.  Then he got rid of all his “so-call” friends and started to attend church services.  Not only did he return back to God, he also decided to involve himself in ministry work.

The above is his testimony.

Dear Friends,

Did God answered his Mom’s prayers?

Yes, God did.

God heard her and He knew when was the perfect time to answer her prayers.

God’s schedules are differ from our schedules; we cannot say God does not answer our prayers just because we haven’t seen the results yet.  Remember, we are short sighted; God is long sighted.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.  ~ I Corinthians Chapter 2 verse 9 (New Living Translation)

Have a glorious day!!   :-)

Honesties vs “White” Lies

Published August 21, 2012 by gigiwellness28

I was working in the office and received a phone call from one of our company’s Sales, who is a very aggressive lady, she told me about a customer’s order was being delivered with an incorrect configuration and demanded for an explanation.

While listening to her, I searched for all the related documents and found the cause of this mistake was partly me and partly the supplier.  I explained that to her and told her what will be done to resolve this incorrect delivery.  She was happy with my answer and thanked me at the end of our conversation.

Not aware the conversation was overheard by my colleagues, I continued to work until I was approached by few colleagues, who said they were very surprised that the Sales was not screaming at me but accepted what I told her.

My reply was, “Maybe because I was being honest to her, told her exactly what went wrong and apologised to her.”  Some colleagues said to avoid any confrontation with this Sales, they would have put the blames to the supplier, since she does not deal with the supplier directly.

Dealing with aggressive people can be difficult task, but when I tell the truth and accepted my own faults, I found it becomes an easiest job in the world.  That’s what my Dad told me (when I was young) that every morning when we pray, we need to ask God for guidance to face whatever we need to face during that day.

I don’t know why I have chosen this post title as [Honesties vs “White” Lies], I am not going to elaborate, I am going to just finish this post by sharing what I have read recently:

Romas: 5: 3-5 “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.  And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  And this hope will not lead to disappointment.  For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.”

The Smell of Rain

Published August 15, 2012 by gigiwellness28

Below is a very touching story, which according to www.truthorfiction.com, this is actually a recap of what happened in 1991 and beyond:

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the Doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing.  Still groggy from surgery, her husband David held her hand as they braced themselves for the latest news.

That afternoon of March 10,1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24 weeks pregnant, to undergo an emergency cesarean section to deliver the couple’s new daughter, Danae Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound and nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature.  Still, the doctor’s soft words dropped like bombs.  “I don’t think she’s going to make it,” he said, as kindly as he could.  “There’s only a 10 percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one.”

Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Danae would likely face if she survived.  She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on.

“No! No!” was all Diana could say.  She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four.  Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away.

Through the dark hours of morning as Danae held onto life by the thinnest thread, Diana slipped in and out of drugged sleep, growing more and more determined that their tiny daughter would live, and live to be a healthy, happy young girl.  But David, fully awake and listening to additional dire details of their daughter’s chances of ever leaving the hospital alive, much less healthy, knew he must confront his wife with the inevitable.

“David walked in and said that we needed to talk about making funeral arrangements.”  Diana remembers, “I felt so bad for him because he was doing everything, trying to include me in what was going on, but I just wouldn’t listen, I couldn’t listen.  I said, ‘No, that is not going to happen, no way!  I don’t care what the doctors say, Danae is not going to die!  One day she will be just fine, and she will be coming home with us!'”

As if willed to live by Diana’s determination, Danae clung to life hour after hour, with the help of every medical machine and marvel her miniature body could endure.  But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana.

Because Danae’s underdeveloped nervous system was essentially raw, the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort – so they couldn’t even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love.  All they could do, as Danae struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl.

There was never a moment when Danae suddenly grew stronger.  But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here and an ounce of strength there.

At last, when Danae turned two months old, her parents were able to hold her in their arms for the very first time.  And two months later – though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero.  Danae went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.

Today, five years later, Danae is a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life.  She shows no signs, whatsoever, of any mental or physical impairment.  Simply, she is everything a little girl can be and more – but that happy ending is far from the end of her story.

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving, Texas, Danae was sitting in her mother’s lap in the bleachers of a local ball park, where her brother Dustin’s baseball team was practicing.  As always, Danae was chattering non-stop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent.  Hugging her arms across her chest, Danae asked, “Do you smell that?”  Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied, “Yes, it smells like rain.”  Danae closed her eyes and again asked, “Do you smell that?”  Once again, her mother replied, “Yes, I think we’re about to get wet, it smells like rain.”  Still caught in the moment, Danae shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced, “No, it smells like Him.  It smells like God when you lay your head on His chest.”

Tears blurred Diana’s eyes as Danae then happily hopped down to play with the other children.

Before the rains came, her daughter’s words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, all along.  During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, God was holding Danae on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.

If you never by Author Unknown

Published August 9, 2012 by gigiwellness28

God said…

If you never felt pain,

then how would you know that I am a Healer?

If you never had to pray,

how would you know that I am a Deliverer?

If you never had a trial,

how could you call yourself an overcomer?

If you never felt sadness,

how would you know that I am a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake,

how would you know that I am a Forgiver?

If you knew all,

how would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble,

how would you know that I will come to your rescue?

If you never were broken,

then how would you know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem,

how would you know that I can solve them?

If you never had any suffering,

then how would you know what I went through?

If you never went through the fire,

then how would you become pure?

If I gave you all things,

how would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you,

how would you know that I love you?

If you had all power,

then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect,

then what would you need me for?

Let Go!*

* From the Internet, some titled this piece as “There are people who can walk away from you“, some as “Let Go“, some as “Let Them Walk“, but no matter what, it was by T.D. Jakes and most important of all, the contents:

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Hear me when I tell you this!

When people can walk away from you, let them walk.

I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you.  I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk.  Your destiny is never tied to anybody who’s left.

The Bible said that, “They came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us.  For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us.”  [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you.  And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.  Let them go.

And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad persons.  It just means that their part in the story is over.  And you’ve got to know when people’s part in your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead.  You’ve got to know when it’s dead.

You’ve got to know when it’s over.  Let me tell you something.  I’ve got the gift of good-bye.  It’s the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye…  It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me.  And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it.  Stop begging people to stay.  Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn’t belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to… LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains… LET IT GO!!!

If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and see your worth… LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you… LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge… LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction… LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents… LET IT GO!!!

If you have a bad attitude… LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better… LET IT GO!!!

If you’re stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him… LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship… LET IT GO!!!

If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help themselves… LET IT GO!!!

If you’re feeling depressed and stressed… LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying ‘take your hands off of it,’  then you need to… LET IT GO!!!

‘The Battle is the Lord’s!’

* * * * * * * * * * * *

For the next few moments, stop whatever you are doing, and take this opportunity to do the following:

Say ‘The Lord’s Prayer” for every life’s traveler you know:

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come thy will be done

On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass
against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power
and the glory.

For ever and ever
Amen!

Next, send (share) this message (post) to everyone you know.  In a while, more people will pray with you and with one another.

Next, stop and think and appreciate God’s power in your life, for doing what you know is pleasing to Him.

An affirmation:

‘Yes, I love my God.  He is my fountain of Life and My Savior.

He Keeps me going day and night.  Without Him, I am no one.  But with Him, I can do everything, Christ is my strength.’

Always remember:

God loves you and watches over you everyday.
